Cook County's Newest Work of Art

When Dr. Tim Dixon, Cook County superintendent, and Dr. Eric McFee, principal of Cook County High School requested a lectern that’s “something very special...a real work of art,” we knew we were the folks for the job!

Excited to get cracking with this one-of-a-kind piece, I set to sketching and imagining the design of a podium that hundreds of students and parents would see and hopefully remember for years. This podium had to be a statement piece.

But what lectern is complete without a custom LED sign? None. So, I collaborated with Brian Harrell, owner of SOGA Graphics, to include an electric Cook County logo as the focal point of the design.

The result is a prime example of what happens when classic, quality craftsmanship meets modern, forward-thinking design. It is easily converted from a formal, three-part behemoth to an easily transported single-piece monolith — depending on its current assignment.

Of course, we can’t deliver a custom Reunion design without our official branding. You’ll notice our “Reunion Designs Made by Hand” brand in all of our newer pieces (check it out in the photos). This brand is more than just our logo; it’s a promise of handmade craftsmanship.

I’m very pleased with the finished product, and I hope the Cook County School District is too.
